Close the room if possible and wear closed shoes nearby.

Do not pull cracked glass
Glass still held in a frame can release without warning. Do not press, tape or remove it unless directed by a professional.

Call 000 if anyone is seriously injured
Do not move a person with a suspected serious injury unless they face further immediate danger.

Photograph from a safe distance
Capture the full opening and frame, not close-ups that require approaching loose glass.

Request emergency glazing
Include approximate size, floor level, frame material and whether the property can be secured.
When to stop
- Glass is falling or overhead
- The opening is high or difficult to reach
- There is serious injury or an active break-in
- The pane is part of a door, balustrade or structural system
